Only four days to go until the 2012 edition of the Nature valley Tikitapu Off Road Trail Run

The course profiles are now up on the website and can be viewed under 'The Event' tab.  We have been out for a couple of runs around the courses with our GPS allowing us to get good course profiles for the half marathon and 10KM up.  Although we do not have a course profile for the adventure run, it pretty much follows that of the half marathon.  You can view the course profile for the 10KM here and for the half marathon here.

GPS profiles will be sorted and loaded over the weekend for your viewing pleasure.

We are so excited about this!  After discussions with the Department of Consevation we have obtained a concession to use the track Tuhoto Ariki which is 5km long running from the top of Tawa Road (high point in Whaka Forest) to Moerangi Road.  This is the first time ever this trail has been used in an event in Rotorua. 

This trial is spetacular and well worth the climb from the Blue Lake to run through.  It is an undulating run through pristine native bush and a rewarding trail to complete.  Built through a combination of the Department of Conservation and the Rotorua Mountain Bike Club and others, this trail is dual use - with walkers, runners and mountain bikers sharing the trail on a daily basis.  This trail is truly one of the best in Whakarewarewa Forest.
